A list of links to other pages I like. This is 50% a notebook for myself and the other 50% a recommendation for other readers.
Homemade Semiconductors
I've been dreaming of building integrated circuits at home since a long time. Here are some people that did it or at least tried.
- Sam Zeelof: Probably the most famous homemade transistor guy in the internet. Website YouTube
- Jeri Elsworth: Also quite known. YouTube
- AndAQuarterGetsYouCoffe: Even though the site is defunct, the pdf still loads: PDF with zinc oxide tft experiments Copy on this server. Rights do not belong to me.
- sparkbangbuzz.com:
- Using a LDR as a transistor: Website WayBack Machine
- Homemade Diode: Website WayBack Machine
- Paper Transistors: A scientific paper demonstrating paper transistors. Link
- StackExchange discussion, not much new links besides these on here, but contains some links to homemade vacuum tubes. Link
- The ProjectsInFlight YouTube channel built a high-temperature tube furnace with the goal of creating homemade semiconductors. It''s definitely worth so see where the project is going. YouTube Website
- While writing this page, I couldn't resist and spent some more time looking around. This page has a promising collection of links at the bottom. Website
Computer Architecture
- Douglas W.Jones: Minimal computer architectures: RISC-like (TTA based) and CISC-like (stack based)
Software Development
- Blog about the psychology of writing code, for example how to deal with tech debt.
- Mitchell Hashimoto: Blog containing some articles about zig, software development and startups
- ITHare: Articles about software and system architecture, sometimes with quite strong opinions. I don't always agree, but it's great for inspiration. Sadly new posts stopped a few years ago and the site is only reachable over HTTP .
- hacker slang documentation of the pre 2000s; a fun read
Eve Online
- Friendly Splash: Fitting focussed with a focus on the maths behind it. Not a lot of articles, but very high quality.
- Ashy in Space: Blog from Foxholer's CEO Ashy. Mostly about fitting. Even though foxholers are controversial within the wormhole community to say the least, the articles are quite good.
- The Greybill: Diverse Eve things, from personal adventures to news.
